Updated over a week ago

Smart Stories allows you to apply two main types of templates to your stories: click-to-play and auto-play templates.

Click-to-play templates typically call for active engagement where a user is required to click to view the content of the story while auto-play makes for an easier experience with the content loading automatically as the user visits a given page.

Click-to-play Templates:

  • User Control: Users get to decide when to interact with the story, which can make them feel more involved and engaged.

  • Better Discovery: People actively choose which stories to click on, leading to more meaningful interactions and potentially longer time spent on the site.

  • Good for Detailed Content: Ideal for stories with lots of information, as users can take their time exploring without feeling rushed.

Auto-play Templates:

  • Captures Immediate Attention: These templates catch the eye right away, making it more likely that people will notice and engage with the content.

  • Easy Experience: Content starts playing automatically, so users don't have to do anything extra to see it, making the experience smooth and enjoyable.

  • Great for Visuals: Perfect for showing off products or telling stories with lots of pictures and animations.

Click-to-play templates are classified under the Thumbs templates category.

Auto-play templates are classified under the Open Pop-Ups and Open in Place templates categories.
